UPDATE: “She passed, prayers for her family” – Kayla Tindell 8/28/23

(InEDC) BY Tina Tara Jubran Published: 08/24/23 8:48 PM PST

I am one of Vi Tara’s daughters’ Tina Tara Jubran. I am sending out this message to let everyone know what is going on with our Mom. On August 5th my mom was admitted to the hospital with severe stomach flu like symptoms with high fevers. She had started feeling better on day two after iv antibiotics and fluid replacement. Day three something something drastically changed and she became unresponsive. Imaging revealed no stroke however, bloodwork showed increasing infection. Blood cultures were negative but the cerebral spinal fluid showed signs of infection. They are calling it meningitis with encephalopathy.

10 days in the ICU, IV medications that covered bacteria, virus and fungus, fluid support and fever suppression. She was in a coma for 5 days. She slowly began opening her eyes. We were so hopeful and happy. She could barely form words. She was able to move her arm a little and wiggle her toes. From that point there wasn’t any appreciable improvement. She was very aware, could hear, just couldn’t verbally communicate or move, which is the worst outcome for her.

She has always told my sister and I that she never wanted to be kept alive by feeding tube or ventilator, and if she couldn’t take care of herself she didn’t want to live. We promised no feeding tubes or ventilators. No skilled nursing facilities. We would take care of her. She always said jokingly, just push me out onto the forest with a big steak on my lap and let nature take its course…if you know mom that’s her in a nut shell lol

So, this week we removed her feeding tube and brought her home to her “mountain” so she could be under her trees. She loved her home and the peacefulness her trees brought her. Here we are, taking excellent care of her waiting for our heavenly father to take her home. Dear friends and family by her side 24/7. I am blessed to be her nurse and daughter throughout this. My sister is also an amazing caregiver and has been by her side as well.

Please send prayers and good energy for her peaceful return to her heavenly home where she has her family and many dear friends waiting for her, welcoming her home with open arms??
