Alleged misconduct involving student-athletes in the Oak Ridge High School football program has prompted a law enforcement response, school officials said.
A letter sent to families from Oak Ridge principal Aaron Palm confirms allegations involving members of the football team.
“Please be assured that we are aware of the incident, are taking appropriate steps to investigate the facts, and will take appropriate disciplinary action where warranted,” Palm wrote in his letter. “Conduct of the type alleged to have incurred has no place in our school community and we are committed to maintaining a safe, and inclusive environment for all students.”
The letter also stated that it would not release further details about those involved.
A statement from the El Dorado Union High School District said it is aware of the incident and working with law enforcement to look into all allegations.
A spokesperson with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with KCRA 3 that, “The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is aware of a situation involving members of the Oak Ridge High School Football team.”
Details were also not released on when the alleged misconduct happened and how many people were involved.
