(InEDC) EDSO, EL DORADO COUNTY – On 9/4/23 an electric mountain bike (Valued at $8000) was stolen from a house in Serrano. A vehicle was seen on surveillance entering the neighborhood during the time of the theft.
Detectives were able to identify the owner of the vehicle as being on probation in El Dorado County, and ultimately tracked the vehicle to a hotel in Pleasant Hill. During a probation search of the hotel room the stolen bike was recovered, and later returned to the victim.
The suspect, identified as Joseph Gardemeyer of Pleasant Hill was arrested on 9/21/23 and booked at the El Dorado County Jail on the following charges: Grand Theft; Possession of Stolen Property; Possession of a controlled substance; and Violation of Probation.
