El Dorado Hills, CA – In a surprising turn of events, Mexico Lindo, the popular Mexican restaurant chain, has closed its doors in El Dorado Hills and Roseville. The announcement, made via a heartfelt social media post on Tuesday, expressed gratitude to the communities and apologized for not being able to represent them better.
According to the online announcement, the final day of service for both locations was on December 24th, marking the end of an era for patrons in El Dorado and Placer Counties. In response to inquiries the restaurant confirmed the permanent closures of its establishments in these regions.
Mexico Lindo first made its local debut in 2020, opening a restaurant in the Sienna Ridge retail center in El Dorado Hills. The 3,590-square-foot eatery was situated in the Safeway-anchored center at the corner of Bass Lake and Sienna Ridge roads. Following this, the restaurant expanded with a second location at 1410 E. Roseville Parkway, Suite 140, in Roseville’s Palisades Plaza. This location offered 4,200 square feet inside and an additional 1,400 square feet of patio space.
Andres Valencia, the principal owner, addressed the closure in a statement to the Business Journal, citing the “lack of consistency on product and service” in El Dorado Hills, attributed to staff turnover. When questioned about the fate of outstanding gift cards, the response was that they are “trying to sort that out.”
Valencia expressed his gratitude and regret, stating,
“Thank you, and I wish we could have represented the communities better.”
Despite the closures in El Dorado Hills and Roseville, Mexico Lindo continues its operations in San Jose, serving the Willow Glen and Cambrian communities.
