Lake Tahoe, Calif. Editor-in-Chief (November 9, 2023) – In an exciting announcement, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is set to kick off its winter season on Friday, November 10, for the 2023-24 season. The resort, known for its highest base elevation in Tahoe and strategic exposure, is leveraging recent snowfall and optimal conditions for its robust snowmaking system.
Mike Pierce, the marketing director at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, emphasized the advantages of their location, stating, “Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has the highest base elevation in Tahoe and primarily Northern and Eastern exposure, meaning we have the ability to make snow more often when conditions permit. We benefit from the colder temperatures we experience, which often translates to better snow quality.”
The dedicated snowmaking team at Mt. Rose has been hard at work, covering the slopes from top to bottom. The resort is eager to welcome skiers and riders for some early November turns, promising an exciting start to the winter season.
For the opening weekend, the Lakeview Express lift will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing top-to-bottom access to intermediate-level trails on the Main Lodge side of the mountain. Skiers and riders can hit the slopes on trails such as Kit Carson Traverse, Kit Carson Bowl, and Ponderosa.
All parking facilities will be concentrated at the Main Lodge, offering convenient access for visitors. Services will be available from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including the Lodgepole Cafe, Timbers Bar, and the Rental Shop for those looking to pick up season lease equipment.
Mike Pierce expressed the resort’s commitment to maximizing the winter weather conditions, stating, “We’ll continue to take advantage of the winter weather that’s expected so we can open even more lifts and terrain, and begin ski school lessons and offering equipment rentals as quickly as possible.”
With the promise of an early start to the winter festivities, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe sets the stage for an exhilarating season, inviting winter sports enthusiasts to embrace the thrill of the slopes.
