The El Dorado Hills Library, nestled in the heart of this picturesque community, has long been a beacon of knowledge and imagination for its residents. With a diverse collection of books and an array of enriching programs for all ages, it’s not just a library; it’s a cultural hub. And it’s the dedicated Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library who ensure that this valuable resource continues to flourish.

A Lifeline of Funding

In an era where libraries face the dual challenges of evolving community needs and financial constraints, the Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library have been a lifeline of funding and support. They’ve launched their fifth annual fundraising campaign with a lofty goal in mind.

Last Year’s Success

To appreciate the impact of this dedicated group, it’s worth noting that last year, the Friends donated an impressive $44,000 to the library. This significant contribution enabled the library to purchase 50% of all the new books and expand their offering of extra programs. It’s a testament to their commitment to enhancing the cultural and educational fabric of the community.

This Year’s Goal

This year, their aim is to raise $40,000, and the purpose is clear: to continue the essential work of enriching the library and supporting its mission. With the library’s role evolving to meet the growing needs of the community, the Friends of the Library recognize the significance of their support.

The Library’s Response

Jan Robbins, the branch manager of the El Dorado Hills Library, emphasizes the importance of this support. She acknowledges that the library has had to adapt and think innovatively to cater to the evolving needs of its patrons. The Friends of the Library provide essential funds to purchase new books and bolster educational outreach.

One notable program completely funded by the Friends is the Early Learning Play Center, which plays a pivotal role in nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. The library staff and the community deeply appreciate the dedication and support of the Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library.

The Call for Community Support

The need for financial donations has never been more compelling, and the Friends are grateful that the El Dorado Hills community recognizes the significance of their library. As an all-volunteer nonprofit, the Friends have consistently exceeded their fundraising targets every year, a testament to the library’s place in the hearts of local residents.

Community members who wish to contribute can securely make donations at friendsoftheedhlibrary.org/donation. It’s not just a donation; it’s an investment in the knowledge, imagination, and future of El Dorado Hills.

A Rich Literary Legacy

The El Dorado Hills Library is not just a repository of books; it’s a keeper of dreams, a provider of knowledge, and a nurturer of imagination. It stands as a testament to the power of community and the value of literacy. And the Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library, with their unwavering support, ensure that this legacy continues to enrich lives for generations to come.
