Thomas and the other women recognized for their committment to their communities in districts in California will be honored at a brunch on March 10 and recognized on the floor of the state Legislature. The event is sponsored and hosted by the California Women’s Legislative Caucus. “We can bring one guest and I’ll be bringing my husband, Dennis,” said Thomas.

Children in foster care in California have typically lost their Medi-Cal health insurance coverage once they turned age 21. Under the Affordable Care Act, former foster youth can now continue to have health insurance until the age of 26. The change went into effective January 1, 2014.
Recently, the El Dorado Hills Community Services District filled three new director positions. Former EDHCSD Assistant General Manager Sandi Kukkola, who left her post in December, juggled many of the responsibilities the newly created posts now include.

This scholarship is designed for the student applicant who will be furthering his/her education in the construction industry, such as management, building construction technology, architecture, engineering and/or CAD technician.
