Two killed in Friday Morning Fire in Placerville - Updated
3/8/2014 UPDATE: A victim of the fatal fire has been identified as 62 year old Carol Hague, a resident of the house destroyed in the fire. Investigators are still working on positively identifying the other victim that firefighters found in the residence. Investigators are expecting it to be a few days before this can be accomplished. The cause of their deaths and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
According to Cal Fire dispatch, crews responded to the fire a property near Mosquito Rd. and Rose Ln. and found the home fully involved.
The fire spread to a neighboring home, according to Cal Fire. No estimate was provided on the extent of damage to either property.
The exact location has no been disclosed but it was said to be near the end of Rose lane.
The fire was first reported just before 6 a.m., Daniel Berlant with Cal Fire said. Fire crews soon arrived at the Rose Lane and Mosquito Road home and found the fire fully engulfing the structure.
Officials say that two bodies were found at the home, but no other information about how they died or who they were have been released.
The home will be a total loss, officials also say. In total, crews from the Diamond Springs Fire Department, the El Dorado County Fire Department and Cal Fire showed up at the scene.
Cal Fire says crews were first dispatched to the home at 5:46 a.m. At its peak, six engines had responded to the fire.
Firefighters were on hand through the rest of the morning to clean up and put out hot spots.
