Can we clear something up? Often, especially during this 2nd Amendment controversy, we are hearing more and more about "protecting our Constitutional Rights." This is a bit of a misnomer. There are no "Constitutional" rights; there are only unalienable rights.
You have these unalienable rights because God gave them to you or they are clearly observed by all of us because of our humanity, in other words, Natural Law or Natures God.
For example, we all likely believe that we have an inherent right to defend ourselves if we are under attack. We do not believe we have to go to the government or our neighbor, or our friends to seek permission. It is unalienable, something we have inherently because we are humans.
Therefore, the Constitution does not grant any right to self-defense whatsoever, the Constitution limits the power of government to infringe upon these unalienable rights. Moreover, when they do, it is not a very persuasive position to say; "the government is taking away my Constitutional rights!" That is what all governments do as they progress...it is their natural trajectory.
“I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” ― James Madison
What is better to say is that "The government has violated its authority, the DC'vers has broken their oaths for the 1 zillionth time, and the result is, they are infringing upon my unalienable rights. Now that they have, I along with my family, friends and neighbors intend to stop them, defy them or withdraw from their 'unlawful' law!"
This is what we need to be focusing on, not whether or not Feinstein or the DC'vers want to disarm the populace...of course they do. That is the natural trajectory of a big-centralized government we have allowed to grow. The real question is, what are you going to do about it? Continue to beg for the misnomer "Constitutional Rights!" On the other hand, organize so you can stop them, defy them or withdraw from them?
“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.” ― Jeff Cooper, Art of the Rifle
We have to embrace the idea that the Constitution is no more than a political document to form and organize a government. It is not sacred, handed down from God Himself to Philadelphia in 1787. These were not "inspired" men who met in Philadelphia, just politicians generally trying to deal with a crisis between the States (at least some were, some were there for very different and nefarious reasons). Even the Bill or Rights does not create ANY "rights," it merely acknowledges the existence of them and then attempts to stop the newly created federal government from infringing upon them. Sadly, it has not worked too well as a restraining device.
“in a constitutionally ordered state, where laws are derived from broad principles of right and wrong and where those principles are enshrined and protected by agreed upon procedures and practices, it can never be in the long-term interest of the state or its citizens to flout those procedures at home or associate too closely overseas with the enemies of your founding ideals.” ― Tony Judt,
This is really important to understand folks, failure to do so gives the ignoble's occupying Washington DC (in both parties) all the power. When you believe they can determine what is and is not a "Constitutional Right," guess who holds all the power. It is not you and it is not me!
Thus, you do not have Constitutional Rights, you as an individual have unalienable rights and it is your duty, as it has been throughout the ages to defend them from the natural encroachment of government. Do not bow before their throne...there is only one God, and DC is not it! Likewise, do not degrade your humanity by letting a rogue government trample Natural Law and Natural Rights. It is time to organize and defend that which only you possess...unalienable rights!
From 'The Forgotten Men'...
“The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. Only if every single citizen feels duty bound to do his share in this defense are the constitutional rights secure.” ― Albert Einstein
