UPDATE:<\/strong> The search of Ponderosa Highschool has concluded, and no suspicious packages or explosive devices were located. The school has been released to the staff and the roads are open. The Sheriff\u2019s Office wishes to thank the Sacramento County Sheriff\u2019s Department and the California Highway Patrol for their assistance with this incident.<\/p>\n

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. (November 30, 2023) – At 7:00 am today, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a bomb threat targeting Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs. The threat was reportedly delivered via email, prompting swift action from EDSO Deputies and School Resource Officers.<\/p>\n

In response to the potential danger, authorities have taken precautionary measures, deciding to evacuate the school. Students are being directed to return home for their safety. As of now, road closures are in effect on Ponderosa Road at Mineshaft Lane and Meder Road to facilitate the emergency response.<\/p>\n
