Armanino’s passion for storytelling and capturing moments led him to pursue a career in videography. He thrived in this field, using his keen eye for detail and his ability to tell compelling stories through visuals.

Outside of his work, Armanino was an avid mountain biker and outdoor enthusiast. He often found solace in nature and enjoyed exploring the beautiful landscapes of Lake Tahoe. It was during one of these biking excursions that the tragic incident occurred.

Details surrounding the incident are still unclear, but it is believed that Armanino was involved in an accident while mountain biking near Lake Tahoe on August 31st. Despite efforts from emergency responders, he sadly passed away at the age of 28.

The news of his untimely death has left colleagues and friends devastated. Many remember him as a bright presence in the newsroom, always bringing a sense of humor and a positive energy to the office. He formed close friendships with those he worked alongside, including journalist Will Houston.

Armanino’s dedication to his craft was also widely admired. He poured over every word he wrote and every shot he captured, ensuring that his stories accurately reflected the communities and subjects he covered. His commitment to excellence and his unique perspective behind the camera set him apart.

Although his time at the Times-Standard was short-lived, Armanino’s impact on those who worked with him was profound. His passion for storytelling and his love for the outdoors will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The loss of such a talented and vibrant individual has left a void in the journalism and videography communities. Sam Armanino may no longer be behind the camera, but his spirit will continue to inspire and his work will be remembered for years to come.
