Bass, a South Lake Tahoe city councilman, was driving his Tesla back into the Tahoe Basin when the California Highway Patrol (CHP) saw his car parked near Twin Bridges at 2:30 a.m. with Bass asleep behind the wheel.<\/p>\n<p>The CHP report said the drugs they found in Bass&#8217;s possession were \u201cwhite powder resembling cocaine,\u201d and \u201ccrystalline substance resembling methamphetamine.\u201d Since his arrest Bass has denied that the drugs found in his vehicle were cocaine and methamphetamine.<\/p>\n<p>Due to a backlog, the Department of Justice took a few months to get results back on the items found in Bass&#8217;s possession.
