This critical interface between farmers and consumers has been in place for 37 years in our community and we think it is an integral part of summertime Wednesdays in downtown Placerville\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Merton Rockney, of Rockney Farms noted, \u201cIt\u2019s nice to be able to get a fair price for our hand-picked vegetables and we know that folks enjoy the freshness of healthy food grown close to their homes.\u201d This season is Rockney\u2019s 7th year participating in the Wednesday night market. \u201cMany of our long-term customers have become friends and supporters all year long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We are honored to support local agriculture,\u201d said Mike Owen, President of Farm Trails. \u201cOur organization was able to purchase a pig at the County Fair from a local high school student. We had Ava Luge, our 2021 Scholarship awardee, chose random numbers to select tasty edible prizes for 4 lucky members of our Farm Trails organization\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>There is an on-going public conversation regarding moving the Wednesday night market to the Ivy House Parking lot in Placerville in 2023.
