I\u2019m grateful to be partnering with many of them, as a connection for students and families needing those vital services to become successful in school and life,\u201d explains Kahn.<\/p>\n<p>Her role as Family Resource Center director includes ensuring that homeless, foster and low-income students receive proper services so there are no barriers to their education. This can include housing, transportation, food, medical services and more \u2014 all things that greatly impact a student\u2019s ability to learn. As After School Enrichment director, Kahn\u2019s duties include signing on instructors and giving promotions, registration and making sure everything runs smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>Before her work at Placerville Union, she worked as a daycare teacher, a one-on-one aide and, most recently, the Alternate Learning Center director at Markham Middle School. Throughout her career in education, she\u2019s learned a lot and notes, \u201cBeing a good listener is very important because you can find out so much from a child when you spend extra moments with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Her role as Family Resource Center director includes ensuring that homeless, foster and low-income students receive proper services so there are no barriers to their education.
