The politicians responsible for this must be held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In January, Kiley introduced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220AB1638\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id%3D202120220AB1638&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1664307597060000&amp;usg=AOvVaw274Kd11OZgYxuhMwECjIwj\">AB 1638<\/a>, an urgency measure that would have immediately suspended the gas tax and saved Californian\u2019s over 50 cents per gallon at the pump. That bill was rejected in the Assembly on multiple occasions. Instead of providing relief, the Speaker of the Assembly created the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.assembly.ca.gov\/gasolinesupplyandpricing\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.assembly.ca.gov\/gasolinesupplyandpricing&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1664307597060000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1bDkZEXL09wcKSMbuw2i3A\">Select Committee on Gasoline Supply and Pricing<\/a>\u00a0to study the issue.
