Join park staff and docents<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 7 \u2013 9<\/strong>, 2022, from <strong>10 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/strong> in a re-creation of a gold rush tent town of 1850.<br \/>\nAdmission to the event is $15 per vehicle, which includes parking<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u2022 Stop by the General Store to stock up on provisions<br \/>\n\u2022 Visit the miners working their claim on the river<br \/>\n\u2022 Stop by the Claims Office to register your claim<br \/>\n\u2022 Visit the laundry for a clean shirt and the tonsorial for a shave<br \/>\n\u2022 Visit the saloon for liquid refreshment, or the BBQ for a little sustenance<br \/>\n\u2022 Hands on activities for the kids include tin punching, journaling and period games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cColoma Gold Rush Live!\u201d is made possible thanks to State Parks\u2019 partnership with the Gold Discovery Park Association. This is a dog-free event except for service dogs.<\/p>\n<p>In 1848, James W. Marshall found shining flecks of gold in the tailrace of the sawmill he was building in partnership with John Sutter at Columbia. This discovery changed the course of California\u2019s and the nation\u2019s history.
