{"id":2643,"date":"2022-09-02T16:11:33","date_gmt":"2022-09-02T23:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.inedc.com\/22\/?p=2643"},"modified":"2022-09-02T16:47:04","modified_gmt":"2022-09-02T23:47:04","slug":"food-bank-breaks-dirt-to-give-disaster-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.inedc.com\/22\/09\/02\/food-bank-breaks-dirt-to-give-disaster-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Food Bank Breaks Ground to Give Disaster Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<pre>By Eric Jaramishian<\/pre>\n<p>(PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA) Sept 2, 2022 \u2014\u00a0 The Food Bank of El Dorado County broke ground on its emergency resource center Aug. 25, which will house essential resources to help residents and first responders if another disaster, such as the Caldor Fire, hits close to home.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to be completed by fall 2023, the facility will span 15,000 square feet and store emergency food, water tanks, tents, flashlights and more, according to Food Bank of El Dorado County founder Mike Sproull.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will store all the things we learned we needed from the Caldor Fire,\u201d Sproull told a crowd gathered Thursday at the food bank to support the project as the first shovels of earth turned. \u201cIt is basically going to be a collection and clearinghouse to support everybody who steps up like the Sheriff\u2019s Office, fire departments and churches.
