During the initial response a firearm was recovered outside the suspect\u2019s apartment. The suspect barricaded within his apartment and refused to surrender while making threats to law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>The EDSO SWAT team took over the incident and attempted to establish communication and directed the suspect to surrender peacefully. After a standoff for several hours and the use of many law enforcement resources, the suspect was taken into custody safely at 11:25 am.
