She is the author of the family memoir,\u00a0Making an American Family: A Recipe in Five Generations\u00a0(forthcoming from Prickly Pear Press in June of 2022). In the United States, her work has appeared in\u00a0Hobart, Pangyrus, Eclectica, The Rumpus, Cloud Women\u2019s Quarterly, American River Review,\u00a0and\u00a0Calaveras Station.\u00a0She is the winner of the Bazanella Literary Award for Short Fiction and the Literary Insight for Work in Translation Award, both from CSU Sacramento in 2017. Her short stories, essays, and poetry usually deal with themes involving morality in faith communities and the mixed-race experience in a culturally binary world.
