Raley's employees have voted in favor of the first strike in the grocer's 77-year history – but labor and management are still attempting to cut a deal.After three days of counting votes, Local 8 of the United Food and Commercial Workers said its members voted to authorize a walkout against Raley's.
Even with the union's contract at Raley's set to expire late Wednesday, a walkout didn't appear to be imminent. Raley's and the union said another bargaining session will be held Friday. The terms of the contract will remain in effect despite the expiration.
