Christa McAuliffe Park is the place to be June 9 for the 14th Annual Custom and Classic Car Show “On the Green.”Live music, vendors, raffles and food and beverages will be available for sale.
Raffle prizes include two tickets and transportation to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway June 24.
“What sets this show apart is that it’s a local community event on the green and it’s a good opportunity for people to get together,” said Yvette Ashlock with the Foothills Cruisers group that is holding the car show. “Each year we draw about 200 vehicles and hundreds of spectators.”
The majority of show vehicles are from the Placerville area, but this year there are also a few entrants from the Bay Area, she said.
Stacy and Mike Bolton, of Placerville, have entered a vehicle in the show for the past four years.
Stacy Bolton said they will be bringing their 1950s Willy’s Overland.
She said the Cameron Park show is a great event and one for the entire family.
“This is a family oriented show with an array of cars,” she said. “It’s low key and a family thing. With the park right there the kids can play and everyone can enjoy the car show.”
