Apple Hill seemed ripe for a murder mystery
Friends recently visited an area in the gold country called Apple Hill, a place I'd never been to. This stretch of country from Placerville to Pollock Pines offers more than 50 farms and ranches filled with all kinds of apples, from Golden to Gravenstein, Gala to Granny Smith, and more. How had I missed this delicious destination?
I immediately booked the Placerville RV park, ready to fill my stomach with apple pies, apple strudels, apple fritters, apple donuts, apple breads, and apple wines. The farms on my list also offered craft booths, kid activities, wine tasting, u-pick opportunities, and picnic areas to enjoy the apple treats. Thinking the grandkids would enjoy this old-fashioned farm tour with me, I asked them along, so we packed the RV and took off.
