Lost Stork Gets Home after some Shenanigans in Coloma
The afternoon saw a cry for help as a lost pet stork named Edgar was at risk of predation as night was coming and he was lost and on foot near Coloma. On the El Dorado County Watch page this message alerted the public:
Has anyone seen our marabou stork?
We were free flying him in the Coloma area. He got tired and couldn't make it up the hill. He's now on foot somewhere in the hills.
We have a team out looking for him. We need to get him safe before dark.
If anyone's seen him walking around... please message me.
One local resident wrote, "If I saw that thing in my yard I might have to quit drinking" but Edgar slipped by unnoticed saving him from being shocked into absences.
Within a hour an new message was posted and the community was happy to hear:
"Well, Edgar's shenanigans has come to an end. He flew back to the barn! One of the benefits of being a bird! Everyone else is exhausted from hiking! THANK YOU FOR SUPPORT!!!" Stephanie Rollins Carvalho
It looks like Edgar is no birdbrain. The lost stork in Coloma had the locals worried about his safety as night approached, but Edgar was out on a walk-about and headed to his home roost for suppertime.
Many asked what such an odd bird was doing around here. This might help answer that question.
