Opinion: Small Farm Water Rates Scam!
Here’s a quote from another e-mail sent me today from a Greenstone Country resident incensed about how more than 40 of his neighbors are gaming EID’s small farm rate:
“Why don't you invite some of the Board members for a ride-along through Greenstone Country to view the many small farm scams?”
Some time ago a colleague and I rode through Greenstone Country and were aghast at the mini-olive trees planted in small corners of these upscale estates. There won’t be any Greenstone olive crop harvests for many years, if ever. But in the meantime, their lawns and pools are filled with $49 Ag water and their total EID water bill is less than $600 annually for 2.7 acre feet of water…five times what EID’s average residential customer uses annually.
It would be in the public interest if the local media were to report these blatant abuses of EID’s agricultural water rate.
