Sand Fire Evacuation Update and Current Stats
El Dorado County Sheriff's Office: All roads that had been closed due to the Sand Fire are now open. All evacuation orders have been lifted [Tuesday evening]
Sandridge Road and Mount Aukum Road are now open. Fire crews and apparatus are still on scene at many locations. Allow firefighters the room to maneuver their firefighting equipment during cleanup.
Red Cross is officially closing the evacuation center for humans, everyone has either been able to find housing or been able to go home.I believe that the FFA is handling the animals and are separate from Red Cross and may very well still be there.
In response to the Sand Fire, the County of El Dorado has set up a hotline and webpage for information regarding County services available to those affected by the natural disaster.

As of 9:00 a.m. today, the Evacuation Orders for Freshwater Rd., Lone Barn Rd., including Moco Canyon Rd., Bell Ranch Rd. and Twin Rivers Rd. have been lifted.
Residents returning to the area may be required to show identification and proof of residency. CAL FIRE encourages residents returning to the area to drive safely and watch for fire equipment and firefighter activity within those affected areas.

Current Situations: Fire crews continue to strengthen established containment lines and extend mop-up further into the burned area. Rugged terrain and hot, dry weather conditions remain a challenge. The fire has destroyed 19 residential structures and 47 outbuildings. Damage assessment is continuing. Several resources were emergency demobilized during the late evening hours to support new incidents. Resources will continue to be released throughout the day.
Evacuations: Evacuation Orders remain in effect for Freshwater Road, south of Vintage Trail, Flat Creek Road, Brinkwood Road, Painted Pony Rd., Higgins Rd. Twin Rivers Rd. and all connecting roads.
Evacuation Warnings remain in effect for Sand Ridge Road and all roads connecting to Sand Ridge Road.
Evacuation Shelter: Ponderosa High School, 3661 Ponderosa Rd,. Shingle Springs
Road Closures: Freshwater Road at Vintage Trail, Painted Pony Rd., Dwyer Rd., Lone Barn Rd., Moco Canyon Rd., Bell Ranch Rd. and Twin Rivers Rd.
Animal Evacuations: Ponderosa High School and El Dorado County Fairgrounds are no longer accepting animals. If you need assistance call Animal Services during normal business hours (530) 621-5795. After hours, call (530) 621-6600 and ask for an Animal Service Officer.
Additional Information: Fire information for the public can be obtained at 530-647-5218. The public is strongly urged to use extra caution and to drive slowly on Highway 49. Evacuation Status Update
As of 5:00 p.m. Monday evening, the evacuation orders for Sand Ridge Road and all roads connecting to Sand Ridge Road had been reduced to an evacuation warning with the exception of Freshwater Road, south of Vintage Trail. This portion of Freshwater Road will remain under an Evacuation Order. .

Flat Creek at Bertone
The following areas remain under an Evacuation Order:
