Registration open for Prospective School Board Member Workshop
Elections to fill open vacancies on school boards throughout the county will be held on Election Day in November, and there is still time to register for the Prospective School Board Member Workshop on Monday, July 14, at the El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE). The El Dorado County School Boards Association and EDCOE host this event to inform prospective school board members about the duties and importance of the position.
El Dorado County Superintendent of Schools Jeremy M. Meyers and EDCOE Legal Counsel David Girard will conduct the workshop, and subject matter will include time commitment, the Brown Act, policy development, budget responsibilities, and the vital role that school boards play in public education. This workshop will provide valuable information and answer many questions, so those interested in running may make an informed decision prior to the election filing period between July 14 and August 8.
