Single Car Accident proves Fatal near Cameron Park
The incident happened just before 1 p.m. Friday, in between Bass Lake and Cambridge Roads along eastbound Highway 50, according to CHP. Preliminary information is that the crash resulted in a fire.
The EDSO Incident report wrote: "A VEHICLE DROVE OFF OF HIGHWAY 50 CAUSING A WILD LAND FIRE. THE DECEASED MALE DRIVER WAS LYING BURNED NEXT TO THE VEHICLE."

Later reports added:
At 12:55 p.m., the unknown male driver was driving his 1989 Toyota two-door coupe in the No. 1 eastbound lane of Highway 50 east of Bass Lake Road, a CHP report stated. The driver, for an unknown reason, veered to the right and passed through the No. 2 and 3 lanes.
The vehicle continued off the right shoulder of the highway and down a dirt embankment. It collided with boulders, became airborne, flipped over and struck the embankment and another boulder. The driver was ejected from the car.
When the vehicle came to rest, it caught on fire and became fully engulfed.
The driver was pronounced dead at 1:17 p.m.
