Recovering abandoned vehicles from the Eldorado National Forest
On Thursday, May 22, California Highway Patrol, G&O Towing and Forest Service personnel spent their day recovering abandoned vehicles in the Eldorado National Forest.
This is a great example of agencies partnering to ensure the forest is safe, clean and resources are protected for all forest visitors. Illegal trash and vehicle dumping in the forest is an ongoing issue. Thanks to partnerships and multiple volunteer groups Forest Service personnel are able to minimize the amount of garbage left in the forest.
The Eldorado National Forest would like to thank all who play a valuable role and for their commitment to the improvement and enhancement of public lands. We look forward to our continued partnership and want to let these groups know their tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed.
The fines for illegally dumping material in the Eldorado National Forest and any public lands are substantial. If anyone finds a site where illegal dumping has occurred, please report it to the district offices.
