Could El Dorado Hills be getting 250 apartments next door to shopping center?
With 250 apartments built around a parking garage, the project would add a residential component to the El Dorado Hills Town Center, said a regional vice president with the development company proposing it.
“The location is really unique for suburban Sacramento,” said Alex Economou of The Spanos Corp., based in Stockton. “We see this as an infill opportunity in a suburban submarket, and it’s a different project than what the area’s seen.”
For now, the project has only a generic title of “El Dorado Hills Town Center apartments,” but Economou said the apartments will average about 900 square feet and be either one or two bedrooms at most. The complex would be on 4.56 acres on the northwest corner of Town Center Drive and Vine Street.
Economou said the market for rents is still being studied, but it’s likely to be around $1,600 to $1,700 a month.
