County Finishes Signature Verification Process on Local Initive
Yesterday, the “Control Growth, Fix Our Local Roads” initiative committee was notified by the El Dorado County Registrar of Voters that it had finished its signature verification and has determined that a sufficient number of valid signatures have been submitted to be placed on the November ballot. We understand that determination will be transmitted to the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors.
“The sheer number of valid signatures demonstrates that El Dorado County residents believe in our effort to reduce congestive failure on local roads, ” said Josh Wood, the Executive Director of the Fix Our Local Roads Coalition which was founded by Region Builders.
The Control Growth, Fix Our Local Roads initiative is designed to protect the quality of life in El Dorado County by:
Extending Measure Y to 2025
Holding the line on growth inside Community Region boundaries
Prioritizing state funding for Highway 50 improvements
Prioritizing local transportation funds to relieve local road congestion and maintenance
Requiring an annual report to residents on how local transportation funds are spent
