Small Farmers will not Die without Fight (Letter of protest to EID board)
Directors Prada and Day are proposing increasing water rates to small farmers. This would destroy many small farms. These directors should be trying to foster small farms, not destroy them.
If the district board eliminated the Small Farm Water Rate, then logically they should eliminate the Agricultural Water Rate to provide equal treatment under the statutes to their customers. To eliminate the Agricultural Water rate would be devastation to big farmers and severely damaging to El Dorado County.
I hereby file protest to any change in the Small Farm Water rates.
I request that you mail notices that you are considering eliminating the Small Farm Water rates to all individuals who are currently on the Small Farm Water rate.
I request, under the public information statutes, a list of all small farmers under the Small Farm rate with their names and addresses.
Small farms are an asset to El Dorado County. They should be promoted, not decimated.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
