Joe Harn has Aggressive Narcissism - Opinion
In 2013, Joe Harn, the El Dorado County Auditor, gave damaging financial information about EDC Fire Protection District to the news media. The fire district was under a vicious unwarranted attack by the “corrupt” fire union at the time. Joe Harn inappropriately added fuel to the fire by failing to disclose the full picture on the matter.
As a former member of the fire board, I asked Joe Harn to explain the basis for the damaging financial information he gave to the news media. I made this written request on May 29, 2013. Joe Harn failed to respond to my request.
On June 26, 2013, I again asked Joe Harn in writing to explain the damaging statements he made to the press. He failed to respond to this request.
I believe that Joe Harn was unresponsive to the needs of the public and irresponsible in failing to fulfill his duties as County Auditor.
This behavior displays an arrogance on his part. He apparently feels the he is above the mere citizens who he was elected to serve and that he does not need to respond to their requests for information.

Aggressive narcissism: Clinical narcissism is an unhealthy level of self-love, to the exclusion of all others and their needs. When the condition evolves into a more psychopathic and violent form, therapists call this aggressive narcissism, or malignant narcissism. This carnivorous spirit is marked by a compulsion to hurt and manipulate others, either physically or mentally. The malignant narcissist seeks an illusory sense of exaggerated power, gained only through humiliating and asserting dominance over others.
This is Factor 1 in the Hare Psychopathy Checklist, which includes the following traits:
Grandiose sense of self-worth
Lack of remorse or guilt
Callous/lack of empathy
Failure to accept responsibility for own actions
