Rain Causes Cancellation of Races at Placerville Speedway
PLACERVILLE, CA – Heavy rains on Friday and precipitation that is is forecast to linger in the region into the early part of the day on Saturday have forced the cancellation of the Saturday, April 26th point race at Placerville Speedway.
With saturated grounds in the pit area that will not support the passing of race haulers, combined with cool temperatures that are expected even after the precipitation has concluded on Saturday simply will not allow ample drying time for the El Dorado County Fairgrounds pit area and racing surface to be suitable for a night of safe, quality competition.
Racing is set to resume next Saturday night, May 3 as the 2014 Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort Championship season returns with winged 360 cubic inch powered sprint cars, Limited Late Models and Pure Stocks that will all be joined by the Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association.
The grandstands will open at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 3, night with qualifying at 6:30 p.m. Adults are $15, Seniors $13, Juniors are $12, Children $5 and those 5 and under are free. Placerville Speedway is located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds at 100 Placerville Drive. Learn more about this event at www.placervillespeedway.com
