Prescription Drug Take-Back Event in El Dorado County
Did you know? Treatment plants are not designed to remove medications from wastewater. When chemicals are disposed of in sinks and toilets they can unintentionally reach the environment.
The prescription drug take-back service gives the public the opportunity to not only prevent abuse and theft of unused or outdated prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, but also to help support the health of our waterways, environment, and community. The service is free and anonymous.
EID encourages its customers to take advantage of this event. The El Dorado County Sheriff's office will host three locations in El Dorado County from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014, to receive expired, unused, or unwanted prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
