DA candidate just arrived
A candidate for the position of District Attorney in the June 3 primary election recently moved to the county, registered to vote and ran for the office...
According to a statement included with his candidacy papers, Henry’s goals are to “rebuild community trust, restore public service, increase respect for civil rights and institute a fair and equitable prosecution policy free of power, money and politics.” Under the “vision” heading, Henry wrote, “Our District Attorney’s Office lost community trust by basing decisions on power, money and political alignments. I want to serve as your District Attorney to change this focus to the proper mission of prosecuting actual crime — not wasting millions pursuing personal and political vendettas ultimately harmful to the economic, civic and personal well-being of all citizens.”

Foaming at the Mouth wrote, "It's a shame somebody has to win this slugfest, but the popcorn is delicious!"
Zeek Slate wrotw, "Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Vern Pierson move to EDC just prior to running against Gary Lacy? If true, then aren't Vern's mud slingers hypocrites as well? And we must all remember that we have to believe everything we read in the newspaper. No reporter or print media is ever biased, slanted, or misleading in their presentations. Cole Mayer would never slat his pieces in favor of one candidate over another. All his material is meticulously researched and he never makes mistakes or misrepresentations. He would never be intimidated or influenced by the most powerful man in the county (The DA) or succumb to the whims of his editor. Paycheck be dammed, he will do the right thing! Cole, your Mother would be proud."
Disclosure: The "Cris Alarcon" mentioned in the story is the same as owns this news wire service. It fails to add that the car was not my car. It was a car that picked me up at the rental car agency. I was driving it home and was pulled over. The fact is that the driver is responsible for the registration during the time any car is being operated. Editor.
