Last Friday a popular ranch home off of Mosquito road in Placerville burned down. Found in the fire were the remains of both ladies that lived at the ranch, 58 year old Crystal Ann Ward and 62 year old Carol Hague. The cause of the fire was not known but investigators were working the scene with a fine comb because all fires that cause death are automatically investigated.
It was one day later before we learned the identify of one victims when the Sheriff/coroner released the name of 62 year old Carol Hague.
SO: A victim of the fatal fire has been identified as 62 year old Carol Hague, a resident of the house destroyed in the fire. Investigators are still working on positively identifying the other victim that firefighters found in the residence. Investigators are expecting it to be a few days before this can be accomplished.The cause of their deaths and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Then, on Monday the Sheriff's office released the bombshell that the women did not die from fire related injuries, but by gun shot wounds!
SO: The El Dorado County Coroner’s Office has identified the second victim of the fatal residential fire that occurred on Friday March 7, 2014 as 58 year old Crystal Ann Ward. The cause of the two victims deaths has been determined as gunshot wounds however the manner in which they received those gunshot wounds is still under investigation.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the owners had left arrangements for the animals in the event of their death. Offers to help with animal placement have been given this response.
