Lake Tahoe's Horizon to Close for Renovations
STATELINE, NV - The Horizon Casino Resort in South Lake Tahoe will close April 1 for renovations.
Northern Nevada businessmen Jon and David Park, managers of the Park Family-owned NevaOne, LLC, recently acquired the property. The Parks will be investing millions in the renovation of the historic Horizon and have engaged Warner Gaming to manage the Lake Tahoe property.
“We are very pleased that our family’s acquisition plans for the Horizon are proceeding on schedule,” said Jon Park shortly after the Nevada Gaming Commission’s approval of an ownership restructuring that had been in the works for several months. “We are also very excited to announce our partnership with the Warner Gaming group for our planned renovations and operations going forward.”
The Horizon originally opened in 1965 as Del Webb’s Sahara Tahoe. The appointment of Warner Gaming as the new manager will require approval by Nevada gaming officials.
