El Dorado Hills Bike Store Fooled Once, but Not Twice - ID Theft Taken Down
A couple of weeks ago, a store in El Dorado Hills was hit with a $5,000 fake credit purchase using a newly approved credit card. Two days later, a different person tried to make another large purchase, which the store declined.
The bike store in El Dorado Hills has another store in Folsom and this week the store was not fooled twice by the ID Thefts.
A female shopper raised suspicion as she went on a shopping spree with a newly approved credit card. One purchase was a mountain bike selling for $4,200. Employees became suspicious because two weeks earlier, their store in El Dorado Hills was hit just two weeks ago with a $5,000 fake credit purchase using the same credit line.
This week Folsom police attribute quick thinking by bicycle shop employees that lead to the arrest of a suspected ID thief who had just spent $6,000 using fake credit.
