Cioppino Feed Supports Two Law Enforcement Support Endeavors
"Thrive with 10-35" is a small group of volunteers that provide "BACKUP" support for the families of employees and other volunteers within the Sheriff's Office, (10-35 is a radio code used when law enforcement personnel need assistance or backup). The "Thrive with 10-35" program Mission Statement is to; "support, law enforcement families and to help families be better equipped to manage the challenges of a law enforcement career. Spouses and partners feel more secure and connected to their loved one and law enforcement marriages and relationships will be more stable. Law enforcement stress will be managed more effectively, careers will be more enjoyable,
and families will thrive."
The Sheriff's Honor Guard is a group of dedicated sworn personnel within the Sheriff's Office who volunteer for the detail and take great pride in representing El Dorado County at various different ceremonies throughout the year.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Honor Guard unit consists of 14 dedicated professionals who place Honor and the Agency they represent at the forefront each and every time they wear the Honor Guard uniform. The Honor Guard's most solemn and fervent duty is to provide funeral honors for fallen comrades and other civil servants, however they also represent El Dorado County and the Sheriff's Office at official and public ceremonies as "guardians of the colors", by displaying and escorting our national and state flags.
This year the Honor Guard is hoping to represent El Dorado County at National Police Week in Washington D.C. During the week-long event, the Honor Guard unit will take part in numerous services to honor fallen officers from across the nation. Some of the services will include candlelight vigils, the laying of the wreath services, the National Police Survivors Conference, and an Honor Guard competition.
To support the "Thrive with 10-35" efforts in the upcoming year and to get the Honor Guard to National Police Week the Sheriff's Honor Guard and "Thrive with 10-35" are putting on their second Annual Cioppino Feed fundraiser.
The Cioppino Feed fundraiser will be held at 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday March 1st at the American Legion Hall, (4561 Greenstone Road, Placerville, Ca 95667). The cost of a ticket is $40.00 or $75.00 per couple. Former Sacramento County Sheriff and current radio talk show host John McGinnes will be the Keynote Speaker for the evening with great food, exciting raffle prizes, and both live and silent auctions
