Food Bank of El Dorado County to Sponsor Spaghetti Feed to Benefit the Chavez Family
The Food Bank of El Dorado County is sponsoring Independence High School’s spaghetti feed that serves to benefit one of its students, Rebecca Chavez and her family who were displaced from their home after the Woodridge Court fire that occurred at the end of January in Placerville.
The spaghetti feed and silent auction will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Independence High School, 4675 Missouri Flat Road in Placerville, from 5-7 p.m. There is no set cost to attend – any donation amount will be accepted at the door.
All funds will go to the “We Thank You Fund” at El Dorado Savings Bank to support the Chavez family. The Food Bank is providing enough food and dessert to feed 200 people.
Donations to the Chavez family can also be made at El Dorado Savings Bank using account number 13249099.
“As a community charity, the Food Bank of El Dorado County is committed to helping its community members. Our hearts go out to the Chavez family,” said Food bank communications and development director Carey Fong. “El Dorado County is full of generous residents who have proven that together we can make a difference in the lives of others throughout our county.”
Independence High School staff and students hope that the public can help the Chavez family by participating in the spaghetti feed and silent auction on Feb. 20. Any contribution will help.
El Dorado County is a very giving community and the Food Bank looks forward to working with many more organizations this year.
