While much of the rest of the country has been seeing relief at the gas pumps over the past two weeks, motorists in the Sacramento area and throughout the West Coast have been taking it on the chin.The reason: A four-square punch of refinery disruptions.
Following a seven-week run of decreasing gas prices, area at-the-pump costs rose for a second consecutive week, coming in at an average $4.24 a gallon, according to Monday's report by SactoGas Prices.com, a GasBuddy.com website.
That's on top of a 4.5-cent jump the week before.
Sacramento-area gas prices are now 8.3 cents per gallon higher than they were one year ago and 14.1 cents higher than last month.
