The Community Development Agency Transportation Division is hosting a public presentation on the County Bridge Program. The County has 79 county maintained bridges. Routine maintenance of these bridges is performed by the County’s bridge crew as recommended by Caltrans bridge inspection reports. The County currently has 25 of the 79 county maintained bridges included in the Transportation Division’s 2013
Capital Improvement Program (CIP). According to Deputy Director of Engineering Design, Matt Smeltzer, “Bridges are vital transportation links in our communities. Annual inspections, regular maintenance, and rehabilitation or replacement of the County bridges are essential components in providing efficient travel routes and insuring public safety.”
Additional information about the County Bridge Program is available in the West Slope Road & Bridge CIP.
A list of bridge projects included in the current approved CIP is located under Section II (Indexes and Maps), Index by Project Type (page 9 of 31). The Powerpoint presentation is available on the county Bridge Projects web page.
