Placerville Ordinances Target Panhandling
Placerville City Council opened 2014 by approving two new ordinances designed to tighten up city code and protect public safety and welfare.
An ordinance adding Chapter 19 to Title VI of the Placerville City Code makes the storage of personal property, including camp paraphernalia, on public property or on private property without written consent of the owner, unlawful. It allows the city manager to issue permits to establish, maintain and operate a camp facility for a special event on public property at his discretion and makes it a misdemeanor to establish, maintain or operate a camp facility without a permit.
