Executive Search - El Dorado Hills Community Services District General Manager

  The Position - Under the general direction of the Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for directing and leading the planning, development, and maintenance of parks and landscaping and the operation of all recreation facilities and community service programs for the District, as well as the fiscal oversight of the entire District. The General Manager is the chief executive of the organization, reporting to the Board of Directors, and responsible for managing all aspects of the District including recommending, formulating and implementing policy and procedures that provide comprehensive, integrated and cost effective programs. It is expected that the General Manager will provide responsible and relevant leadership skills in demonstrating the role that Parks and Recreation can play in enhancing community vitality.

• Understand the nature of active resident participation and be comfortable operating in a transparent and high profile environment. Decisive and able to inspire confidence, quickly establishing and maintaining a high level of credibility.

• Provide ongoing education to decision makers and the community as a whole, explaining complicated concepts in layman’s terms, as necessary.

• Possess exceptional management and organizational abilities, operate efficiently and effectively, and respond to requests in a timely manner.

• Possess a calm, self-confident, and professional demeanor as well as an appropriate sense of humor. A team player within a collaborative organization of skilled professionals. Motivate and mentor staff and be a proponent for staff development.
