Zephyr Cove Restaurant remodeled
Zephyr Cove Resort proud to announced earlier this month the reopening of Zephyr Cove Lodge Restaurant. It marks the completion of an overall renovation project that has been under way since October. The revamped restaurant opens with a new décor and a refreshed food and drink menu.
“We are so excited to welcome guests to the new and improved Zephyr Cove Restaurant,” said John Kenny, general manager for Lake Tahoe Cruises and Zephyr Cove Resort. “Our beautiful, newly renovated restaurant will be a huge hit for our guests to enjoy, especially since the holidays are right around the corner.”
Executive Chef Jeremy Acuna has designed new breakfast, dessert, and dinner menus with options that are available all day. Guests will delight in such selections as house made chicken pot pie and tender braised beef cheeks in wine with natural jus and fresh horseradish gremolata. Lavish desserts can be enjoyed, including house-made apple fritters with crème anglaise or flourless chocolate torte with sea salt caramel ice cream.
But menu changes aren’t the only ones that have taken place at Zephyr Cove Restaurant; the restaurant has been completely overhauled in order to enhance the warm and welcoming atmosphere. New paint and natural log accents have been added from floor to ceiling as well as new, distressed wood flooring. The ceiling has been refurbished with tongue-and-groove cedar and innovative Mason jar lighting, all of which bring the eatery back to its 150-year-old lodge roots.
In addition to the enhanced floors and ceilings, the restaurant’s bar has been completely remodeled. It’s now adorned with beautiful rustic granite stonework that is indigenous to the Lake Tahoe area. The new bar has been further augmented with flat screen TVs and a sampling of craft beers on tap.
Zephyr Cove Restaurant has received honors in advance of the grand reopening; on Nov. 12 the restaurant was named Best Restaurant at the 47th annual Soroptimist Food & Wine Tasting event in South Lake Tahoe.
