Cedar Springs Waldorf Student Art Show at Synapse Wines on Main Street
PLACERVILLE – Enhance your Main Street holiday shopping with a visit to Synapse Wines to view the Cedar Springs Waldorf School (CSWS) Class of 2015’s Art Show for the month of December. The student’s free artistic expressions are currently displayed in the tasting room and will be available for purchase by way of silent auction.
Synapse will reward all bids with a complimentary tasting for two. Winning bids will be announced on December 23 just in time for the holiday. All proceeds will benefit the students in their 8th grade trip fundraising efforts. Former graduating classes have traveled to amazing places such as the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Maine.
“The 8th Grade trip for Waldorf Students comes at a culmination of their time together (for many they have been classmates for 10 years), before moving on to high school. Most trips provide time for bonding and reminiscing, as well as providing an opportunity for community service. Exposure to cultures and economic circumstances different from their own, make these both valuable and memorable experiences,” CSWS teacher Paula Thompson explained.
CSWS student artists will host a meet and greet at Synapse during Placerville’s December 21st Art Walk from 5-9 pm. Art is prominent in all aspects of their education. The Waldorf curriculum immerses students in a broad, multi-disciplinary, and personal artistic experience that nurtures imagination and fosters creativity. Students will also display samples of their class work.
Sadly Synapse will be closing their doors on Main Street at the end of this year so don’t miss the opportunity to view beautiful art work while saying goodbye to our neighbors. Synapse is open Monday-Thursday 1-7 pm, Friday and Saturday 1-9 pm, and Sunday 12-7 pm. Complimentary live music plays Friday and Saturday evenings (6:30 - 8:30 pm), featuring local musicians in a family friendly environment. For more information, please go to www.synapsewines.com.
The Cedar Springs Waldorf School is an independent, accredited Waldorf school with programs spanning Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Since its inception in 1989, CSWS has strived to help children fully develop their own unique capacities and to be inspired with a lifelong love of learning. This is accomplished on a five-acre campus where dedicated and trained teachers educate the whole child—head, heart and hands−through a variety of artistic and academic endeavors.
