Update: Name of driver killed in Saturday morning El Dorado Hills car crash released
Update: Quinn Cuthbertson, information officer for the Placerville area CHP office said, said Gerald Clifton, 68, died as a result of injuries sustained in the 7:30 a.m. Dec. 7 crash.
According to the CHP, Clifton's vehicle, a Buick Lucerne, drifted into oncoming traffic and hit a Honda Pilot head on.
The Pilot was driven by Jon Rivera, owner of popular World Famous Barber Jon's barbershop. Rivera suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
EL DORADO HILLS, CA - A two vehicle collision early Saturday morning killed one and sent another to an area hospital.
According to Chuck Lee of the California Highway Patrol, the 7:30 a.m. crash happened just north of Crown Drive on El Dorado Hills Boulevard. According to Lee, two vehicles, one traveling north and the other traveling south, collided. The driver and sole occupant of a Buick Lucerne heading northbound, died at the scene as a result of injuries.
