El Dorado Hills Woman killed in bizarre Lodi Accident
El Dorado Hills -- Lodi Sheriff's department officials have released the identity of the woman killed when she fell or stepped out of a bed of a pickup speeding down Highway 99 in Lodi on Wednesday night.
She has been identified as Gabriell Marie Johnson, 21, from El Dorado Hills.
Johnson stepped or fell out of the bed of a pickup being driven by another woman about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday night. Johnson was struck by a Honda Civic and died from those injuries.
The woman driving the pickup, when stopped, told officers she had no idea someone had even been in her pickup bed.

The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died after she stepped or fell out of the bed of a pickup and was struck by a vehicle on Highway 99 Wednesday night.
Johnson tried to climb out of the bed of a pickup, possibly unaware the vehicle was driving south along Highway 99 around 11 p.m., according to California highway Patrol. Johnson fell to the pavement and was struck by a Honda Accord. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are still unsure how Johnson ended up in the bed of the pickup.
The female driver of the pickup was driving Sacramento to Clovis. When officers contacted her in Clovis hours after the incident, she said she didn’t know someone was in the bed of her pickup, adding she didn’t know the victim.
