Why are you running for this office?
Sue Taylor: My candidacy is inspired by the belief that we must protect our independence, heritage and rural lifestyle. As stated in our general plan, the county has a tradition of appreciating and conserving our abundant resources and upholding a strong ethic of stewardship over these assets; somewhere, we seem to have forgotten the value of those assets. Our local industry was the life’s blood of our community, which I would like to see restored. I worked to stop the roundabout and redevelopment in Placerville, preventing a burden to existing businesses and residents. Our family purchased the Hangman’s Building in order to restore this important historic asset. I would like to see water and road infrastructure debt reduced so as to not hamper our future economic stability. I believe if we sustain a healthy economy we can better educate our children, take care of our seniors, and honor our veterans in a way they desire. I will fight to bring back a thriving El Dorado County for all generations.
