Latrobe property owner seeks rezoning for country store
...Next week, county planning commissioners will have a public hearing on whether to rezone a parcel in the unincorporated community of Latrobe, which property owner Paula Reece said is a necessary step before she can develop a country-style store of less than 2,500 square feet.
“It’s a convenience store, but it doesn’t look like a convenience store,” said Reece, a Latrobe resident who’s owned the parcel and some neighboring ones since 1999. As she envisions it, Crossroads Market and Deli would offer both the standard milk, eggs and cool drinks as well as locally grown produce, wines and sandwiches featuring tri-tip from a neighboring ranch. An 8-foot covered porch would be built to run around the store.
Though commissioners seemed favorable at first glance to the idea when the rezoning first came before them last month, a second hearing was necessary to answer some additional questions...
